Ageless (in my opinion, anyway)

Well, it's my birthday shortly, and this semi-ageless one will be the ripe age of 52 (years, not eons). I really am not that concerned about age, as every birthday beginning with the 'dreaded' 3-0 has been better than the one before. Of course I and the F.O. met just before that milestone, and being in love tends to make one forget about such superficial things as growing "old"...

Every B-day starting then was better (or at least different), such as Age 31 (married), age 34 (Kid1), age 36 (Kid2), age 40 (wheelchair), age 50 (my present job). Age per se can not determine if you are happy, and it shouldn't.

I note that I "wear my age well", y'know I think that I look younger than my age. But why is that important in itself? Why do some want to eradicate most if not all signs of age? No lines means that you have never smiled, laughed or been deep in thought...why eliminate signs of living? I figure that as you age you have more experiences which means more knowledge that you can use and more importantly impart to others, especially to Kid1 and Kid2.

Enough philosophizing about this...Being with my family, all birthdays are special...Let's hear it for the boy man geezer!

Happy almost birthday! The reason that ageing doesn't seem to phase you is because you are a man...and men become more "distinguished" with age, while women become more "haggard"...except for your F.O., of course.

Please tell your lovely F.O. to ignore the spelling error in the word "aging"...I know how to spell it right...must have had a brain fart. By the way, how do you cross out words in your post? I've been wanting to do that and can't figure out how (must be old age).

Wait, I didn't mean for you to tell me how to cross out words in YOUR post, I meant how I could cross out words in MY post...I must really need a day off!

Happy almost 52nd birthday! And your Profile photo does indeed prove that you "wear your age well." It's interesting that our generation looks so much younger than the generations that preceded us. You know what "they" say...50 is the new 30...so happy almost 32nd birthday...again!

I'm with you all the way, Joan. 50 is indeed the new 30...
It's true our boomer generation does look younger than those that preceded us. Must be the vitamins we all took.

Lynn: I also don't have a clue how to cross out words while typing..
I guess Homer will teach us later on.

I usually write my posts in Word and copy - paste onto Blogger. I customized my toolbar to include the strikethrough key, so I can the add the strike line through the words. By doing it in Word first, I can format more things (underline, columns, etc) prior to adding to the post.

The F.O. is the ageless one!

I hope your birthday is a great one!

I always thought 27 was the worst birthday, everything after that has just gotten better.

Maybe all those syllables...ha ha.

Whoa Ralph...please slow down. I am somewhat of a technotard, and I have no idea how to find the "strikethrough" and get it onto my tool bar in word. Can you pretty please give me a lesson on how to do this??? Patti...do you know how to do this?

Go to View (open)then Toolbars (open) then Customize then use the 'Command' tab, then drop down to Format, scroll down to the 'Strikethrough' command and Drag & Drop that button to your toolbar on top

Thanks Ralph for the Strikeout key instructions. I've been wondering about that as well.

Was able to put the "strikethrough" command on my tool bar. (thanks) I was even able to "strikethrough" a word in my word document, but when I went to "Control-C" and then "Control-V" onto my blog, the strike through disappeared...not the word that I crossed off, just the actual strike through line ;~( signed 'Queen Technotard'

haha, Queen Technotard - well if you are the Queen, I must be the Duchess.

I haven't tried the strikethrough procedure yet (it's 5:57 a.m.). I had to file a story on a meeting last night.

Maybe it's shallow but if you look younger than you are, cool.
