Empty Nesting

It is going on a week since our progeny arrived at the U of H. We can be counted as 'Temporary Empty Nesters'. The cats, although soft and furry may not count here ("Hey!" said Linus and Rigby in unison).

Miss them we do, but we aren't as desperate as the hapless Mr. and Mrs Farmer here. We are adapting as best as we can, but aren't just
rattling around our abode. There's blogging, of course, a perfect outlet...

We do offer a cute view of
kids that were home every day at the time. It's October, 1993 and Allegra had begun Kindergarten, Cameron still at home all day. Aged almost five and almost three, they still had much to learn in the nest fifteen years prior to their current studies. We are confident in their futures, and we parents will do just fine. In a while...

You're still getting used to the quiet house; give it time and before you know it, you and Patti will totally enjoy having your own little love nest all to yourselves. It just takes time!

Speaking of Linus, did you see where is animator, Bill Melendez, just died at 91? Fascinating life.

Oh my gosh it's amazing how much your son looks just like YOU and your daughter looks just like Patti! Like cute little miniatures....what a sweet sweet sweet photograph.

You'll be ok with the empty nesting. One day in the faraway future, a little person will knock on your door and call you "grampie" or "mimi" (ahem) or something similarly affectionate and you'll look at this photo and get to re-live it again through their eyes.

Until then, there's always blogging!!! What would be do without it?

Wahhh...I so will be a terrible empty nester.

Damn, why do they have to grow up and leave?

Very cute picture of two adorable wee ones.

I could go with a semester or two of empty nest-hood... but mine's only eleven and smart as she is, it could be a few years.
