Ruby Tuesday - Comfortably Numb

Ruby Tuesday is a celebration of reds in all their ruby glory. A lot, a little, in large splashes or small flashes. Red is the operative. So you wonder what to make of things here...I showcase our late feline, Sir Humphrey, perched on his favorite mattress pad. For him, sleep was at its pinnacle on the quilted lining of my ruby plaid flannel shirt. He could sleep for hours on this shirt, and if it was on our bed, took no time at all for sleep to take hold. In fact, we think he knew the word 'shirt'. The routine was in this order: check out the lining with his front paw; curl around the quilting after going round and round; institute the seriously loud purr; and finally go to sleep. Contentment ensued. Our current guys Linus and Rigby could care less about a silly shirt. But for Sir Humphrey, it rarely got better than this! See Mary for all the possible iterations of red.

Nice shirt, good choice by Sir Humphrey. Sorry he's not around anymore.

I take your red plaid flannel shirt as his comfort sleep zone area :)

Hi Ralph, you are a good guy to share your shirt with Sir Humphrey. I too am sorry that he isn't around for you anymore, I am sure he was great company for you.
I am not blogging about it, but our Adi had to spend the night in the hospital Sunday. She came home late this afternoon. She was a mess with 'Hemorrhagic GastroEnteritis (HGE) in Dogs.'

Hi, Ralph,
Your dignified cat sure deserved his Sir title!
The proud attitude of his head, and suitable white collar.
Our cats also liked lying on clothes.
We used to place Gunnar's old wool sweater in the travel cage. It also helped them settle down when we visited my parents.
Oh, cats are wise.
I understand Sir Humphrey was special, but then again aren't they all.
Sure, they've got catinality!

And that is why we love cats. They are so distinctively unique in their preferences.

He looks wonderful atop plaid!

my sweet dearly missed JR used to love one particular sweatshirt of mine - I would wear it once and then leave it for him - always made him happy

Sir H was a magnificent cat!

My cats too love to nap on clothes ! especially when they are freshly washed, or on dark once where you can count all the hairs then, lol !

Sir Humphrey was a handsome fellow! I'm sure he knew the word for his favourite place to sleep. Cats are smart. They don't want us to know it though. ;-)
