Ruby Tuesday - Musical Rubies

Ruby Tuesday, Mary's fun meme, and the past - a perfect pairing! We are transported to Allegra's eighth birthday at the end of 1996 (the year is correct, check out the family computer, a blazing 286 with 12" screen). There rubies all over the place, solid and patterns the birthday girl in a red plaid skirt to the right. A bunch of Allegra's third grade friends and acquaintances were invited. Of course, we did the musical chairs activity a bit differently. I handled the musical duties and decided that Pop Goes the Weasel was not uptempo enough, so the song was substituted by a 1930s Big Band/Swing version of Well Git It. It is really fast, and the children are moving fast to capture the diminishing number of chairs. Follow the pace of the video, and the smiles of the party goers, just imagine keeping up with the music. The eight year olds could - and did!

I can see that everyone was enjoying themselves. And great minds think alike with the red clothing. Cool.

Red or ruby is a popular color or theme for birthdays and celebrations. It's vibrant that's why. :) Happy RT!

my RT entry is here.

Birthdays are so much fun when children are young - they celebrate with their entire being.

I love all the little "Rubies" but can't help but chuckle when I found that 286 you mentioned Wow 12 whole inches for the screen? Imagine how far we have come!

Marvelous Ruby post ;--)
Love the music and your sepia catnip thief is wonderful too! Thanks for visiting HRG. I'm playing catch up today and have shared an award with all visitors in my T-13 this week. Hope you'll drop again by when time permits to snag, enjoy, and pass it along to others.
Hugs and blessings,
