Shadow Shot Sunday - Once a duckling

Tracy of sunny Queensland offers the always fun Shadow Shot Sunday which showcases shadow art.

We travel back to 1991 and two-year old Allegra in the backyard. She may be looking for shadows as she aims her Fisher-Price camera at us or our respective shadows. She leaves one herself as she works at playtime.

The mama duck and her ducklings, made of plastic, are involved in the shadow scene, too. The fairy-tale ducklings grow up into beautiful swans ducks themselves. Much like these 'birds', Allegra herself has grown up as we see below...

She is not a baby bird now at the move-in day of her collegiate senior year last August.

Once a hatchling herself, she has grown into a beautiful and poised duck, the duckling having grown up with interests in big person things (like Vera Bradley handbags...)

The parental unit ducks see her as a duckling with more experience...

See al the shadow fun at Hey Harriet!

How quickly they grow up and move out of the nest, but these photos and memories last a lifetime for us, the proud parents...I can look at them over and over and never tire of each and every one!

Have a wonderful weekend!

I somehow worried about ur kids growing up so fast and start their own lives. It's like, we want them to be with us as kids.

That is just the cutest picture! And they do grow up fast--my son is 20 now and living on his own.

I thought those ducks were real! We too were going over our children's childhood photos during the week and wondering where all the years had flown. It's an exciting time for your daughter - it's all ahead of her.

They do grow up, don't they. And it seems like that off-to-college time happens overnight. My youngest left for college in January, so I know what you're feeling. Hold onto to those sweet memories and photos.

Love that shot of your small person! Very sweet - incredible stuff is nature - look at her now - a lovely young woman! It must make your mind boggle Ralph to remember her as a tiny wee thing not so long ago and then to look at her now!

Hope you're having a weekend and a terrific week ahead!

I didn’t realise time could fly so quickly until I had a little “duck” of my own. He’s only as big as your daughter in the first shot now, but at the rate time is flying by I expect it will only feel like a moment has past by the time he is ready to move out.

You are strolling through wonderful memories as you peruse and organize your photos. Isn't it wonderful to return to that time when they were young and seeing the world through fresh eyes?

That is the cutest little picture of 2 year old Allegra! You and Patti must be so proud of your beautiful grown-up duckie! The lovely duckie with a fondness for Vera Bradley handbags. A duckie with fine taste! Have a great week Ralph!

We were just saying today, how our children are getting so old, yet we do not seem to age one bit! Have you & Patti found this to be true as well?!!
Happy Weekend to you Ralph!
