Ruby Tuesday - Ruby Anchorage

Since my last post included taking pictures on a nice day, Ruby Tuesday beckons.

The New Haven Terminal is part of a small port on the harbor. The main purpose is fuel storage, the main export steel scrap. The dock showcases large, ugly hulks with barnacles and rust.

However, the oxidizing steel does have a sort-of-ruby hue to its unattractive mass, and as such, a fine specimen for RT. The day was beautiful in sea and sky - an unattractive boat can never change that...

There is that oxidizing word again!

Love your last comment! Amazing how a bright day seems to gloss up the ugliest corners! Suddenly they have a unique beauty! Great post!

Yep, I'd say the rust qualifies. I say that because I'm fond of photos of rust things. :)

Gladly, the lovely day overshadowed the rusty vessel.

Didn't Bruce Springsteen sing about diamonds and rust just some years ago?
I like the shape of the ship, and the rust adds lots of color to to blue sky and ditto sea.

Anything, anything that deals with sea, seaports, I love.

Won't you visit my Ruby Tuesday? I'd love to have your company today.

I've got to admit that I've never been totally enchanted with New Haven's harbor as it does look a little beat, to say the least! Still a great capture, though!

Ships appeal to me immensely. Though I love the blue in the mildly choppy water.
Terrific shot!

Homely but hard working--it earned its rust & barnicles, yes? :O) Nice choice for Ruby Tuesday.

Gorgeous day! Let's hope we see more and more of them! And thank goodness for the RED of rust! :) Happy Ruby Tuesday, Ralph!

Nice shot! As a general rule, I like rust--it has character! But I have to agree that the ship in question could do with a make-over!

Here in West Virginia along the Ohio I see a lot of these scenes. Truthfully I wish there weren't so many but I understand the need.
I'm with you though that a beautiful day of water and sky helps one to overlook some of the scene.
Hope you and Patti and the children (or maybe I should say young adults) had a wonderful Easter weekend.
