Ruby Tuesday - Family Party

For Ruby Tuesday, I see some rubies at a 1996 summer party at my sister Michele's home. Conversation, food and drink were outside.

However, momentary boredom seems to have set in inside the air-conditioned house. Allegra, Cameron and a cousin seemed a bit bored and oblivious to the camera.

Yet moms always seem to have the ready advice when the kids say 'we're bored'

She would say 'go outside' and get some fresh air'. A little oxygen won't hurt anybody bored at any age.

So outside later, young cousins congregate with a Frisbee. They don't look bored at all

Rubies abound in bright summer clothing and house shutters too. See more ruby artifacts at Mary's always fun meme!

Ah unfortunately, today they wold be in front of the video game...not caring that the weather is beautiful outside

Hands folded across the chest says I've had enough. :)
Their fresh air time put them right in front of a red shuttered home - worked out perfectly for RT!

Cute pictures -- too many of us forgot to take snaps of these normal moments. My kids learned early not to complain of boredom -- we could always find a job for them to do.

I'd think the children were watching a video. They have all got that far away look in their eyes.
How very wise to give them some outdoor alternatives.
They look full of up and go!
Love your family pictures, especially since our daughter was born in 1988 about the age of your kids!

Even the adults are so easy to get bored this days. Back then we can let our kids play our yard without worrying now it's a different story already. Nice photos here and thanks for sharing!

Nice shot! I know how it feel to be bored in such situation.

I dread those words - "I'm bored." This week it was just a matter of my husband taking two girls to the other girl's house - ours had been "played out." Yippee, a few minutes of quiet for mom.

Looks like a fun party at the end...

Great photos! Now I must sound old but, when I was young we were always playing outside. Happy Ruby Tuesday!

I often heard kids say "I'm bored!" and the parents will just ignore. Sigh ....

Great fun the kids in the yard had!

Hi, Ralph...great rubies for us here. I love all of them...

I am just getting home from a cruise to Alaska...we had the most magnificent time. Our kids gave us the cruise to celebrate our 50th anniversary. O, what a magnificent gift, too.
i haven't got all my photos ready for blogging yet but I will be showing photos as soon as I can. I hope some of them will have REDS...bet they will..:))

Kids and a frisbee, that's all you need for a great time outdoors.
Happy RT.

Hi Ralph ~~ Even the dog (or is it two dogs?) joined in on the 'outside' play.
The kids are having great fun out there. It looks like maybe a bit of arguing too?
Happy RT! I liked your bike added info, thank you. Mine was a 1938 model.

Patti is very wise! The kids look way happier outdoors than they looked inside. :)

A fun frisbee will always perk things up. Kids are easily bored but it doesn't take much to spark their interest.

LOL! Bored or not, they still look cute. Nice Ruby shots.

This reminds me of a lot of our holiday gatherings, it often takes the kids a while to stop moping and warm up to each other again.
