Shadow Shot Sunday - Noel

Shadow Shot Sunday
by Tracy in Brisbane arrives just before Christmas. So my theme is now set!

Christmas seems the time for children, the younger the more special the time. This is son Cameron at age 4 in 1994, the B&W edit utilized to cut the flash glare of the print.

The sleeper, with feet no less, signifies Christmas morn has arrived. When they (perhaps most of us) were little, the day arrives early and Santa’s gifts are amazingly set up and ready to check out. I remember this a part of a Hot Wheels car track, and perhaps Cam seems to have already figured its operation...

The same year, later in the day and her grandmother’s house, Allegra is set for even more presents, generously given by grandparents (they have that knack, as we see here). I think the necklace was a present found in her stocking.

Christmas is for children. They are at that great age (just turned 4 and almost 6) where there is a bit more magic to the season. See more seasonal shadows at Hey Harriet - and to all a good night!

As I scan old slides and photos, I too get to relive the days when my children are little. It brings joy to an otherwise tedious project.

Hi Ralph,

The photo on my blog was the husk of a tomatillo tomato. So your guess was right:)

Love the xmas lights at the top of your blog.

Your Christmas photos must bring back some good memories.

How true is that ? .. kids make Christmas .. they are such trusting excited little souls that still believe in magic .. it can be catching can't it ? Love the shots of the kids .. I remember how cute my son was in those famous sleepers with feet, I think I loved them more than he did ? haha
Little sweetie with the necklace is too cute . they love anything and everything they find in those stockings : )

I agree that Christmas is even more magical when there are young children involved.

Allegra appears to be very pleased!

When I was 5, Santa actually knocked on our door and gave us treats, from that time on I knew he was real, my lil' brother stayed hid under the bed...ahhhh, sweet youth!!! Wonderful memories, like many squirreled away in my old Victorian steamer trunk, the shutters on the window make for the best shadows!

Have a wonderful weekend Ralph!

It seems that we should follow their example and see he celebration of the season through their eyes. It is magical if you don't let yourself get distracted by all the other 'noise'!
I'm sure you find it hard to believe that these two tykes are now adults. They sure are cute at that age!

I just love this time of year, Ralph. The memories are kind ones for me, some a bit lonely when dad was gone overseas. Christmas would come late and often well into the next year. But, Christmas always arrived and the best gift of all was that daddy was home.
