Shadow Shot Sunday - Sunny and Warm

Shadow Shot Sunday is an always fun meme hosted by Tracy in now warm Brisbane.

So thinking warm thoughts of warm days seems the only antidote to us in the northern tier of the USA (quite unlike the warm pre-summer days in beautiful Oz).

So digital remembrances of a summer drive through New Haven in July, the day about 77°F / 23° C and of low humidity.

The architectural gem on the right is the Art & Architecture building housing  the Yale School of Architecture.

In our usual mode, I drive and Patti handles the camera.

Our drive in the environs of Yale University on Chapel Street west, a typical look on a summer weekend late morning.

Little traffic and few summer university students allow for leafy shadows.Pleasant weather on a scenic drive...

See so many more shadows at Aussie’s own Hey Harriet!

Yep, when it's too hot we long for the cooler days of December and then when the cooler days turn downright frigid, we long for the warmth of July! It would be nice to split the difference for a nice compromise, wouldn't it?

Nice leafy street, with some swell tree shadows there.

Linda, if you split the difference you get the Bay Area, pretty much. But we still manage to gripe about the weather (fog, anyone?). ;-)

Love the summery colors and trees! Terrific captures, Ralph, and reminders of the warmth and the sunshine! Like Tom, while our weather is frequently gray/foggy, our temps are so much milder than yours, but we, too, still manage to gripe about the weather!! Enjoy your weekend!!

Turn right at the shadow
Just down the street—
Who knows what sinister
Thing you will meet?

But if you are daring,
Helpers will come
Their bagpipes skirling with
Beating of drum.

They’ll banish the shadows
And bring forth light,
And then you will see that
Your goal’s in sight:

The palace of candy,
Creamy and sweet—
So turn at the shadow
Just down the street.

You evoke the memory of summers past and yet to come.

You two lovebirds do quite a few "local" road trips. I can just hear you conversing about the next best shot along the way. Patrick has turned into a Shadow stalker too. Fun couples therapy!!

Such lovely scenery! It is so good to have these shots to look back on when the weather turns cold and white!

A far cry from what we're experiencing today here in Iowa, rain, snow, ICE and lots of salt trucks running up and down the highway...I think I'll stay awhile and enjoy the sunshine of your shot!!!

Thank you for not chilling me out with the wintery shots! I feel the warmth of the summer through those images! Not that it is terribly cold here right now, but we are right up on winter.

This is how we long for when times like this, bro. You make my early morning feels warm. I guess, I catch cold now §:-(

YOu been at my place at the ambiance is just so slashy, though nice but for 6 months? Feels can't bear any longer. However, we survive.

Thank you sharing these warm & sunny day. It seems you & Patti always have that fun drive. Like it...

Enjoy both and hope you have a great Sunday & have a wonderful 3rd Advent.

Thanks for commenting on my entry. It's a good idea to post photo taken in the summer in an opposite season! I miss sizzling summer already.
Have a wonderful day.

Hi Ralph,
I hope you don't mind but I have copied your lovely twinkling lights and have decorated my banner with them too! They are great!
