Shadow Shot Sunday - Tired of snow (yet??)

As a weather phenomenon, snow is rather benign, just an inconvenience.  Unlike the terrible floods now in Queensland, that is life changing for those affected. The images show a catastrophe, and all that most of us can do is to pray and wish for the dry and warm Oz summer days to return soon...

For happier thoughts, the delightful Shadow Shot Sunday appears again from Tracy in Brisbane. We are ready, the changing lighting our quest. What is the antidote to the snowier winters of now, 1978, 1994 and 1996? Well, memories of past summer vacations may offer a warm and shadowy visual change. Such as the top view. We are heading to the Cape, and the camera is in use by a backseat rider.

This would be US Route 6 east along the Cape Cod Canal, on our way to our hotel. We are a mere 15 miles (24 km) from our destination, although a slow 35-40 minutes with the maddening volume of vacation traffic...

Below is another pose of me on Craigville Beach in Barnstable.

The mid-morning day alongside Nantucket Sound is nice, the Atlantic breezes, preferred to the sun, at least by the grownups like Patti and myself. A bit of shade envelops me. For us, vacations are meant to be relaxing...and warmer, too!

See shadows at the fun Hey Harriet. Tracy, please stay safe!

We don't get any snow here, but I am sure ready for spring. Such lovely green in that shot...

Ah, such lovely reminders of the warm, sunny days of summer! We have had some snow, but mostly just rain, wind and dreary! I, too, as so ready for spring/summer. But in comparison to Tracy's world, we here in the northwest have no problems whatsoever and are wimps to whine -- but then I always knew I was a wimp when it came to weather!! Hope you have a wonderful weekend, Ralph! Enjoy!

Love it Ralph...and to think if you'd head west...you'd pass our store right on 6! Of course, we wouldn't have that lovely green and sunshine at the moment :)

The beautiful emerald green grass reminds us that spring will come. I was wondering about your chair, do you have one that can handel the sand? I have seen beach cruiser chairs and though how nice it would be for those with no or limited mobility such as our grandson.

Ralph, I can't tell you how much I needed to see some sun today. I'm sending you a big ol' smooch.

You're right, Ralph, snow is just an inconvenience. And it is pretty to look at when I'm safely indoors and don't have to drive.
Nice summer photos!

That shade looks like it would be a welcome sight on a hot summer day, which will be upon us before you can imagine.

Although I can't complain of too much snow here in my part of the 'woods', seeing the warmth and green of another season is most welcome!

Oh I don't know, I'm sure snow can sometimes be more than just an inconvenience. I've not experienced snow but I imagine it could cause some dangerous situations even though it looks so pretty to me. Looks can be deceiving!

Relaxing on the beach! How dreamy! I just noticed the date of the photo and August over here is one of our coldest months. So if I'm sitting on the beach in August I'd would be wearing a coat and a beanie :)

Have a great week Ralph!

With all the snows north of us, I fear for floods in the spring on the Mighty Miss, seems like it's an event that plays out every year these days. The rivers flooded 3 times around here last summer and by the looks of all your snow, someone could have some flooding unless we get some slow thawing, the ice flows are such a pain in the spring...no one is exempt from this crazy weather these days!

Have a sunny day, you just look too relaxed in the beach shot...soon, right!!!

Right about now, I wish we had some of that sunshine. It's been drab, dreary, cold, and wet here in the Coastal Texas area.
