Shadow Shot Sunday - Then and Later

Shadow Shot Sunday arrives from Tracy in (usually) sunny Brisbane.

We take a look back, back to a time of new family members from small to tall, petite to grand. I take son Cameron, second born in our family foursome. A large babe when born in 1990, to a person now with two decades of experience.

Mom Patti captured these sequential shadows. He became too large for the swing in short order, probably as the swinging motion put him to sleep. Of course, babies grow when they sleep - we gave him the swing so he could sleep, which ultimately made him too big for the swing.

Peaceful he seems, a sleeping infant allows a parent to at least catch their breath until the next wakeup cry...
Fast forward almost a couple of decades, and the baby has grown up somewhat. Now a college student and much larger than the small Cam - in size and even more so in intellect.

The shadows fall all about the second, and even the first born Allegra who shields her eyes from a strong autumnal sun. Then and now, the memories are happily captured...

See more of a shadowy presence at the fun Hey Harriet!

It is fun to look back to when those "big" ones in our life today were those "tiny" ones they were -- just yesterday??? Somehow it doesn't seem much longer than that, but how quickly time flies! Terrific shots as always, Ralph. Hope you are all having a great weekend!

Had to laugh! Our first born was always too big for everything - in fact, when you were sharing the swing picture, I always remember fighting to get him out of the "baby" swings at the park and playgrounds....now THAT is a chore...and also very funny to watch I'm sure! Great pictures Ralph! Thanks for taking us along down memory lane!

Quite the comparison between then and now! Cameron has grown into a handsome young man.

So much fun to see how well they've grown. Cam is a good looking young man (nice lips!). Before reading your post I thought Allegra was someone who didn't want to have her identity shown in the photo. hehe. Glad you cleared that up. Happy SSS to you & yours!

Great post Ralph, it is fun to look back on photos of our family and then see them as they are now.

Nice shadows on the second photo, he sure looks like a lovely young man.
You must be very proud of him.

Cameron looks like a very content baby on that swing, even if he fills the space! I am sure that there is a smile playing round his face! And in the second photo, his smile seems quite bemused! Great shots!

Aren't they so cute when they were babies? They sure grew so fast!

If you can't find a shadow, you gotta make one :-)

What would we be without our children. You at least have photos of when they were little, mine were all incinerated with everything else in a bushfire.

I wish we would've had those swings when my daughter was a babe, she has asthma, it would've helped this worn out mommy a great deal...fun to look back at our babes, the time flew by all too quickly, I now have a 23 year old grandchild to look back on...ahhh, those were the days!

I'm sure I can see a resemblance between the baby and the young man, Ralph. Some adults have recognizable baby pictures and some don't. Lovely memories for you.

What a handsome young man. It's a wonder how time starts out so slow and then just keeps picking up speed. Happy weekend!

Happy memories indeed with the shadows as a constant companion!

Ralph isn't it amazing to ever think they were that small (even "big" small ?LOL) .. Number One son also would fall asleep in swing and of course wake up when we tried to take him out to put him down in his crib .. it is the law of averages that they do that ! haha
Great to compare what they used to look like to "now" !
Joy : )

A PARFAIT DAY

A seeker of shadows one day
Did trip as she went on her way;
She picked herself up
And dipped from a cup
Of shadowy lemon parfait!

I can look others 'young - older' pics without any problems but it's difficult to understand how quickly time flies when I look similar pics of myself :)
Have a great week ahead!
