Shadow Shot Sunday - Cruising

Shadow Shot Sunday, hosted by Oz artist Tracy, arrives on a (finally!) sunny day in the Northeast US. Not as warm as we would prefer, but after the snow, any climatic improvement is most welcome...

Here, Patti captured the driver on a warmer day last year. Green grass and a sunny exposure greet the vehicular occupants as we cruise on CT Route 15 toward Hartford. The Dodge wheelchair minivan has a smooth ride, so shadows and reflections fall gently on the driver and take hold. Not a fast driver, we motivate slightly above the speed limit with the cruise control on. No need to stress, we arrive at our destination with time to spare...

Shadowy poses abound, see them all at the always fun Hey Harriet.

Not just a shadow shot, but a reflection too!

Yea! Double duty shot it is!! Love shadows and reflections -- and I love them primarily because it means there's sunlight!!!! I've almost forgotten what that is!!! Hope you have a great weekend, Ralph, and with more sunshine!!

whoa. this is one of my favorite photos. there's something so peaceful and reassuring about it. perhaps the hands, so steady on the wheel. I love this photo. the inside is so intimate, and yet I get a glimpse of the outside too.
oh my. nicely done Ralph. happy SSS, and I'm hoping your weekend is sunny and warm!

Isn't it a joy to be one of those that drives the limit, not in such a horn-honking rush to get somewhere...just extra time to take it all in, even if it's a lowly shadow, it was worth the time to cruise.

I always have a line...hey, I drive the limit on cruise or a few over, I always leave early and rarely use my horn, I find that a smile at an offender is a far better way of handling it, they know what they did without me honking and flipping them off...bad karma...ha!!!

Have a great weekend Ralph!

Nice one shadow shot Ralph. And why hurry when there is no need to. The whole shot looks totally relaxed.

Have a good week, and may you get plenty of sunshine.

It's amazing how a photo can convey mood or emotion. It feels warm and relaxed, just cruzin' and enjoying the day.

A lovely capture of both shadows and reflections! I feel as though I'm cruising along with you guys. I'm the annoying passenger in the back constantly asking when are we going to stop for icecream? ;)

Have a great week ahead Ralph!

Do you think your shadows enjoyed the trip to Hartford as much as you and Patti did? ; )

I'll bet they did.

Patti "did good" Ralph : )
Every time you describe something it is always in such a calm serene way.. I just sense that about you and it is lovely ! .. so taking this photo encases a calm in control driver which we need so many more of ! .. yes, even here in the GWN .. Kingston drivers are NUTS ? LOL
Joy : )
PS .. of course I'm not one of those nuts ? hehehe

Love the green shade on the road! It's sunny here today too, hopefully snow won't come anymore.

The driver looks firmly, but gently, in control.

FRAGMENTS OF LIGHT

Since shadows are fragments of light,
Most gracefully they can take flight
And soar through the air
(They do this, I swear)
As though they were some sort of kite.

Your lovely Patti did a nice job capturing the shadow and reflection here. I notice a vehicle theme runs in and out of your blog Ralph...Are you a little far north to be a NASCAR fan?! (Most of my family back east are fans and I can't understand the fascination...Cars for me are to get from point A to point B!)

A neat shadow with a bonus reflection, too! There's a great meme, Weekend Reflections, for photos like this.
