Shadow Shot Sunday - Farmville finery

Shadow Shot Sunday arrives courtesy of Tracy in sunny Brisbane. Shadows show up in many a frame if sought. If not, and shadows present themselves, it might make a fine SSS entry.

Last week, winter was the theme, today it is a warm summer landscape. This week is in the Summer a few years ago, the place looking like a true gentleman’s farm on Route 254 in Northfield CT. There are chickens, cows, pastures and a barn. It appears to be more a labor of love than a giant place of agribusiness. I have always liked this view.

This picture was taken by Allegra (hand controls and cameras do not pair well at speed :). Under a brilliant sun, shadows fall under the trees. The bonus unplanned effect: the reflections on the interior glass inside the van feel like sun rays.

Shadows and reflections can be artistry in motion or still. See so many more at the fun Hey Harriet!

Oh, it does look so peaceful! Great shot for the day and I love how the reflections on the glass look like sun rays -- they really do, don't they? Hope you have a great weekend, Ralph! Enjoy!

I'm glad Allegra was available to act as your hands on the camera. I'd hate to see you try to do too many things at once while driving!

FOR LOVE OF SHADOW

Tell your shadow that you love her,
Spurn your shadow, if you dare.
Keep your shadow out of darkness,
Keep her in the sun’s harsh glare!

Dear Ralph
That is a beautiful country summer shot : )and YES ! I see the affect of the false sunrays from the van windows .. you are very right not to mix a camera with hand controls ;-) not a good combination at all! *giggle*

What a lovely scene. That farm is just perfect. I like the accidental sunrays from the windscreen too-I have accidental mist in one of my pictures this week-from the same source!

A gorgeous landscape view from the window of your car! I always feel a little sad that such delightful scenes are just enjoyed in passing!

Definitely love and not big business here, Ralph. I noticed the sun-rays on the window first, and I love them.
But the trees are wonderful, with their round shadows. They could have been drawn by first-graders, they're so round and adorable.
Good capture, Allegra!

I feel warm just looking at this pretty picture! It is very cold, wet and windy in Sydney today so looking at this tranquil country scene is a lovely mini-holiday! Gorgeous shot!

Agreed! At first, I thought that was light rays until I figured out that it was taken from inside the vehicle. Such a picturesque piece of land and architecture!

A lovely farm and ShadowShot. I can imagine it as a painting by Warren Kimble. Very nice. Happy SSS.

That barn does look like a labor of love. Great shadows, too - each tree with its own little puddle of shade.
