Shadow Shot Sunday - Serene Scene

Shadow Shot Sunday arrives during the early stages of our Autumn in the northeast US. Yet, warm weather still sits overhead, and we keep the warmth in our minds as the snow will fall someday soon. Our memories will keep us warm (sort of)...

Above is a capture courtesy of the delightful Patti, and it is a summer view of the trees and water in a park in our neighboring small (13,000) city of Derby CT. It was owned by the local water company, but donated to the city as a park. It is a very serene scene, the day warm but not humid; the water still, barely a ripple traversing the surface.

I would love to have a home with the glass door leading to a deck with such a view in the summer. In the winter not so much, minus leaves on the trees and ice on the surface. Above is shown the seasonal view to savor... See more of the shadowy fun at Hey Harriet!

What a great place to sit a relax...a day that you'd have nothing to do! We bet it will look fabulous when the leaves start to turn! You'll have to take us back then!!
Have a great weekend Ralph!

That is a lovely park. The lake and grassy knolls with surrounding trees are inviting and relaxing. The shadow in the foreground seems ready to jump in the water for a swim.

Patti did get a beautiful shot of the water, Ralph, and it would indeed be a wonderful view to have. I think winter might be nice, too, with ice on the water and snow on the trees, no?

I share your yearning for water outside my door, Ralph. A creek would be lovely, and so would the ocean. Dream on!

SHADOW PLAY

Shadows like horses, shadow likes chicks,
Shadows like houses built with red bricks;

Shadows much taller than a high wall—
No matter their shape, I love them all!

The lovely Patti does great captures. Is it because of your warm weather that the leaves haven't turned colors yet? Have a good weekend!

What a lovely spot! I wonder what it looks like in the dead of winter from the same vantage point?

Tell Patti that this is a lovely shadow shot.
I, too, would love A ROOM WITH A VIEW such as this. I would even love it in the wintertime..winter being my favorite...but I am sure it is because we have very mild winters compared to you and other places.

My shadow is so faint in my post this week that I almost wish I'd not played in the meme. I'll do better next time.:)

How nice it would be having that view to see every morning.

What a beautiful park! It makes me feel calm and relaxed just looking at it. All those little fair weather clouds are so pretty too. I like your idea for a house there - an excellent idea! :0) It's very good of the water board to give it to your town! Wow!

If a glass door would lead you to a view like that, I wouldn't mind it all. Beautiful picture Patti/Ralph!

Dear Ralph
As soon as I saw this gorgeous view I immediately wondered how stunning it would be dressed in Autumn colours ? .. and I know you are not crazy about winter .. but it must be beautiful then too !
