Shadow Shot Sunday - Snow way

View to the north
Toward the South, and driveway

Shadow Shot Sunday is thoughtfully hosted by Tracy in sunny and dry Brisbane. If weather is the theme for the day, how about a freaky autumn snowstorm.

Last Saturday, 29 October, it snowed. Problems for many in this state - there are those north of us, many customers do not have electricity still.* We kept ours thankfully, so we could focus on at least the nice snowy views.

The always lovely Patti captured these shots early last Sunday. Cold and snow are not preferred, but shadows and sun add a bit of artistry to any home...See shadowy art from all over the globe at Hey Harriet!

*Falling trees full of leaves and heavy and wet snow fell onto utility lines, which caused the power problems for over 600,000 customers in our state...

The kiss of soft light and shadow on the white snow is very beautiful! I can't believe the depth of snowfall at this time of year there!

Wonderful shadows of what could have been a disaster for you and Patti as well as those north of you, Ralph. These photos made me think of "making a silk purse out of a sow's ear"!

Mercy me, Ralph...this is indeed a LOT of snow. Wow....like most people, I like it until I have to get out in it.
Now, MY shadow shot is a lot warmer than yours. :))
Stay warm.

Great snow shadows, but glad we do not have that in Texas.

Snow is lovely, Ralph--from a distance of about 2,000 miles!

SHADOW, WILL YOU?

Shadow, will you always be
Here where I can always see
What you do and how you play?
Or will you just slip away?

Wowee, I heard there was snow, but I didn't realize just how much! I'm glad that you still have electricity, and hope everyone else does soon, if not already!
Gorgeous shots!

Wow. Lovely snow shots, pretty to look at, but glad we don't see much of that here. Have a great day.

Your snowstorms were on our news and apparently ended up over here as rain! Lovely blue skies you had though, to show off all those lovely shadows!

Dear Ralph
OH MY GOD !! LOL
I had no idea you were in that "cold spot" .. husband mentioned some areas had snow but being the good little Canuck that I am , I just thought it was "us" ?
Now... that is way too early to start this nonsense isn't it ?
BUT .. Patti snapped some beautiful shots here and this was a more pleasant way to dip my toe into was is going to happen soon to us as well .. thank you for the gentle reminder ? LOL
Joy : )

OMG! you really started early or? I don't really like when snow comes, although it's pretty.

But, we must accept and enjoy whatever weather invites.

Happy SSS...

Stockholm still warm with +10deg, Amazing.

Hugs to both you & Patti.

Your photos are mind-boggling, especially for October! We rarely get snow in south Arkansas and certainly not in large amounts. It's beautiful, but I get cold just thinking about it!

Your snow storms even made the news over here! You might not want snow, but it does make lovely photos!!

I was thinking of you guys when that storm hit-hoping that you were all in safe places and then, how unfair that you would be hit with this so early in the season. Made for nice shadows, though-so I guess that's the silver lining, huh?

Hard to believe there was that much snow in October! How right you are tho that the shadows are lovely!
Hopefully that will be all the snow for a while!

Wow, you really did get the snow! Glad your power didn't go out.

It may be unwelcome, but it surely is pretty.
