Shadow Shot Sunday - Spring like shadows

Shadow Shot Sunday 2 is back on a great nearly Spring day!

Last Sunday the always lovely Patti and I undertook a trip to IKEA in New Haven. It was a delightful day, with blue skies and a breeze of Long Island Sound allowing for a chilly 48°F (9°C), But the sun is moving northerly at this time, so shadows are abundant.

The place to park was on the fringes of the massive (1200 space) parking lot (car park). As shadows come in many shapes, the subject would be the lot itself. Patti, the intrepid photo huntress, took the views. Our entry to IKEA was near the old Armstrong Rubber headquarters. Shadows are all over the structure, the flags waving in the wind accordingly. Upon our exit from the retailer, and given our far-flung location, shadows instead of card were all over. From the cart return to the rental U-Haul vehicles, the shadows are slight (tree, tubular steel) to bigger (the U-Haul van). I am partial to parking area shadows...

Nearer our vehicle, the photographer and myself are evident on either side of the Dodge. Shadows surround the scenes well, so the usual subjects define the theme today. Shadowy artistry surround us all, so be sure to see more at the fun SSS2!

1200 spots IS massive - but a wonderfully wide expanse in which to capture shadows. Always fun to see reflections among the shadows, especially when it's the author and his photographer. ;)

I've yet to visit an IKEA store. I'm not sure there is one anywhere near me.

Are you as handsome in real life as you are in your reflection? :)

Hi Bro!
That's a cutie post §;-)

The Dodge is a bit too clean and shiny this sunny beautiful day, huh? Time for us to take as much shots as evah coz we have a the sun in our side.

Hope you have a great week-end and enjoy the best of it.

P.S.
Hope you live nearby. You can just come and knock the door to visit us. No need of inviting to be in
D´Box. Here is always open.
Just tell me if ever you pass by Stockholm, one day. Okies?

Hugs to both of yah,
/CC

I too love searching for shadows in a car park! Great variety of shapes and sizes to be found! Your Ikea certainly knows how to turn on an impressive display! Especially love the last two shadowy reflections! Like secret treasures in a mirror!

Shadows and reflections both...what a great deal. Those IKEA parking lots. They are huge and are certainly conducive to bold shadows. The sun was just right for you. The closest one to us is in Washington - a good 3 hours away. Seeing y’alls reflections on the cars is really cool. Those unexpected ones are always a treat for the eyes. Happy St. Patty’s Day. genie

Wishing we had an Ikea here...it has been a lovely pre-spring week! We are supposed to get snow tomorrow. Which means you should too in a few days. At least it won't stay.

I like the reflection of you on the van. That's really sharp. And I must add, I'm truly jealous of you having IKEA within driving distance. Green, with envy, I am.

I especially like those reflections on your van, Ralph! Super!

Shadows do abound here!

I recently read another post featuring IKEA, from Israel. I didn't know then that this retailer had outlets in the US...but I do now!

Blessings!

You have to be careful, you never know what your shadows might show. Great job.
