SOOC is back. With my phone at the ready last Monday, I attended the ceremonial opening of the new West Haven (CT) train station. With the governor and dignitaries present, the police presence was great: MTA (railroad), CT and West Haven police departments were there. Along with many canine police officers, mostly Yellow Labs. They rested on this warm humid day - but ready to spring into action if needed. And happily, it was not :)

Such an unusual event. Not too often would you get an opportunity to attend a train station opening. I guess that's the reason for security - the unpredictable. Interesting photo.
