Arriving at the First Baptist Church, Ansonia CT, 10 May 1986
The always lovely Patti
It appears every year around the tenth of May...the anniversary of the day Patti and I wed, May 10, 1986. In views seen and appreciated for decades, we offer these two scenes for Shadow Shot Sunday 2, the bride straight out of the limo about to enter the church. Naturally, I did not take these views being at the altar ready to meet the always lovely Patti. But the legendary photographer of the (now defunct) Evening Sentinel, Ed Cotter, did. Shadows and sentiments are on display here of a wonderful 29 years of bliss...
Shadow Shot Sunday 2 returns on a celebratory date in our home - today is the 28th anniversary of the day we wed, 10 May 1986.
The day was beautiful, 72°F / 22°C, low in humidity and blue skies for the marriage day of the lovely Patti and myself. A day we happily remember, and with shadows that fall within and throughout the scanned prints.
Our first dance was to Lionel Richie...Happy anniversary mon ami!
Ruby Tuesday 2 returns as do I after a short hiatus. We look for ruby reds whenever and wherever we can spot them...At the 25th annual meeting of my favorite non-profit Center for Disability Rights, aka: CDR. I have been a board member, employee and these days a contractor for them. Twenty-five years is quite a milestone for this, or any, non-profit, and I have been helped by them in a number of ways so we celebrated in style...the cakes were donated by a baker - however, instead of the half-sheet cakes, these were full-sheet. Way more cake for the 95-100 who attended the dinner, so doggie bags were available for all, a sweet favor to remember the event :). Patti (who wrote a newspaper story) stood on a chair to capture this sweet and stylish scene with a ruby or two for the desert course...
