Shadow Shot Sunday - Happy ever after continues

Arriving at the First Baptist Church, Ansonia CT, 10 May 1986
The always lovely Patti
It appears every year around the tenth of May...the anniversary of the day Patti and I wed, May 10, 1986. In views seen and appreciated for decades, we offer these two scenes for Shadow Shot Sunday 2, the bride straight out of the limo about to enter the church. Naturally, I did not take these views being at the altar ready to meet the always lovely Patti. But the legendary photographer of the (now defunct) Evening Sentinel, Ed Cotter, did. Shadows and sentiments are on display here of a wonderful 29 years of bliss...

Whimsical Windows - Lighthouse Love

Yes, we look about at portals and other architectural items of interest for Toby's meme Whimsical Windows/Delirious Doors. And often there may be a story (of sorts) behind these openings. Such as here, taken in July 1986, not too long after the marriage of myself and the always lovely Patti. 30 years in 2016, it has been wonderful all along. This is the portal to a lighthouse along the Mystic River in southeast Connecticut at the Mystic Seaport, a restored whaling ship village from the 1800s. The smiles back then are as genuine as they are today :)

Wordless Wednesday - Hovering

A gull appears to float on the thermal currents. This is a photo that was taken in March, 1986, and the print has held up well over the decades. It seems that no effort at all is being made by the bird floats over New Haven (CT) Harbor. Not too much action from the other four either...see WW and WW

Shadow Shot Sunday - Shadowy Ceremony

Patti got to the church on time...
Last time I wore a tux...

Shadow Shot Sunday 2 returns on a celebratory date in our home - today is the 28th anniversary of the day we wed, 10 May 1986.

The day was beautiful, 72°F / 22°C, low in humidity and blue skies for the marriage day of the lovely Patti and myself. A day we happily remember, and with shadows that fall within and throughout the scanned prints.

Our first dance was to Lionel Richie...Happy anniversary mon ami!

Whimsical Windows - The classic red barn

Toby hosts the architectural meme Whimsical Windows/Delirious Doors, and I revert to the past in a couple of ways. The structure is a classic red barn located in tony Easton CT - the shape, color and style have lasted and always look great. What is the other old thing? This was scanned from a print developed in October 1985, which like the barn itself, has held up quite well over the decades. Classic touches include the cupola perched upon the roof and split-rail fence - such a building endures nicely over many generations...

Happy 26'th

The day was glorious, the beginning of a lifetime love. The day has not been lost to time. It was the day of a new life together. That day, 10 May 1986, is always to be remembered, Reverend Bradley officiating and asking 'Do you take Patricia, in good times...", to which I answered "I will". A day of perfect love, the old scanned prints here a mere glimpse into the beginning of a true and lasting love...
