When visiting our son in the New York City borough of Brooklyn, we dined at a cool eatery Cafe Madeline. I had a cheddar chive egg biscuit, the others something with bacon and arugula on sourdough. Photogenic and tasty too...see WW and WW

Shadow Shot Sunday - Street fair signage
Shadow Shot Sunday 2 returns for us shadow hunters. Our intent in this fun meme is to look for these in any venue, Today, it is the street fair Derby Day held last Saturday on a beautiful day of sunshine, low humidity, blue sky and of course, shadows...
Along the small city's main (and closed to traffic) thoroughfare Elizabeth Street, local restaurants set up fair fare signs promoting various tasty foods...and it was not just the vendors on the streets that had shadows - a few of the regular storefront dining establishments offered a shadowy menu too
With plenty of savory eats from antipasto to pizza and even more, perhaps an ice cream treat from the blue and white truck on the city green would make for a fine desert
See many more shadows that span the globe at this great meme!

Ruby Tuesday - Street Fair Fare
Ruby reds |

Ruby condiments... |
Here at the biggest tent, rubies were all over. The specialties including a fried onion bloom and sausage and peppers. Many chose this place, although we had wraps elsewhere. The requisite reds were the main course here...

Ruby Tuesday 2 - Super Bowl Pizza
Ruby Tuesday 2 reappears for the week. We all follow the one rule: Any red will do, a lot or a little. Toady it is the latter…Ah, what can one say about that unique US (secular) holiday, the Super Bowl. At its essence, it is an (American) football game. It seems to be a day of parties and food – Patti, Allegra and I concentrated on the food part.
I once had at Zuppardi’s in West Haven, what was referred to as a Antipasto Focaccia. We tried to replicate it at home, and it included the pizza crust, salami, artichoke hearts, pancetta, and copa ham in a vinegary dressing, mozzarella on top. And, tomatoes for the requisite ruby. It turned out to be special eats on our dinner party for three.
Yet, at its essence, it was merely a game. I like both teams, the Patriots and the Giants, as do many people in Connecticut, many the same distance from Boston and New York. I would say that the Giants were the better team today - hence, the four point win. As foodies, looking for a unique and tasty treat, we three found it!
