Wordless Wednesday - Friendly feline neighbor

The sunny day starts with a visit of neighbor cat Libby, a fluffy and friendly feline who accedes to having her picture taken. She got her name for when she was rescued her head was stuck in a Libby's can (green beans or peaches?). Given a nice home now, she looks content...see WW and WW

Whimsical Windows - Retro Gallery

For Toby's meme Whimsical Windows/Delirious Doors I am traveling back a couple of days to a reception at a new gallery in a cool old factory in a nearby town.

Owner and artist (in so many disciplines :) opened Studio E.Y.E. (Express Yourself Endlessly).

This old facility has the requisite windows to let lots of natural light in to this stylish gallery, workshop and classroom to those in the pursuit and learning of making metallic art...not to mention paint parties. A very cool place!

Shadow Shot Sunday - Mechanical

Shadow Shot Sunday 2 is back, and shadows can be art by themselves. And the mechanics of making art can make shadows too. Yesterday, we attended a reception for a new gallery in a cool old factory in nearby Beacon Falls CT.

Known as Studio E.Y.E. (Express Yourself Endlessly), there were more than a few shadows emanating from the metalworking tools of the trade of artist and owner Robert Dancik  He works all sorts of metals into jewelry and offers art classes as he describes "to learn, play and express your creativity"

Most wouldn't look at presses, shears, grinders, hammers and anvils as stylish, nor this old factory studio. I do, and this workspace is full of shadows too. The creativity of artists can never be underestimated :)

Ruby Tuesday Too - Canyon Crossing

For this installment of Ruby Tuesday Too, I go back to a recent visit to see our software developer son who lives in the New York City borough of Brooklyn, and it was a nice visit it was.

On the way home, always lovely passenger Patti captured this ruby view with her phone - we were traversing north on the I-278 BQE, and I thing the setting sun to our left added to the red, the church and building above complete the ruby trifecta today...

Whimsical Windows - Gotham skyline

I have two more pictures from our foray to visit our son last week in Brooklyn NY for Toby's meme Whimsical Windows/Delirious Doors. 'Here' is heading south on the I-278 Brooklyn-Queens Expressway (BQE) before entering Kings County. It looks like a dilapidated industrial area as we peer over or through the cast iron guardrails. Looking toward Manhattan, on top we see old and modern buildings and a view of the famous 59th Street/Quensboro/Ed Koch Bridge (bridge name changes happen a lot in NYC), the bottom pic a look at the older styles of the city, old industrial and financial, Again, thanks to Patti for capturing this mere essence of a great city...
