The 1970s was a different sort of decade. Many odd styles were normal, especially in long hair, ultra-wide jacket lapels and clown width ties. Not to mention plaid!
I am resplendent in red plaid jacket. The year is 1976, and Grandpa is as dressy as plaid allows, too. This fuzzy scanned picture has been posted in the past, yet it still tells a story well of a strange decade...

You both look so happy resplendent in your plaids!
And yes, the 1970s were different. Remember loon pants?!
Happy RT2.
This brings back so many memories of my own brothers clothes of the time. I too had a plaid skirt and jacket.
It was a strange decade but it was a happy one as well. :)
Have a wonderful day Ralph!
You both looked good.
My entry:
Moms...Check Nyo
That's a good photo to look back on.
That is a great photo! I used to have a skirt that looked just like your red jacket :)
Happy Tuesday!
I went all out and had a plaid suit!!! Spiffy, doesn't begin to describe the fashions on the 70's. Most of my photos are best left in the boxes. Happy RT.
you both look marvelous! :)
As you know, I love seeing your olden photos so much. I LOVED the 70's but, yes, the dress was a little....uh....
different. :)
Your grandfather always, ALWAYS, looked so nice in his photos. A very well dressed man, I'd say.
Both of you are very handsome in your plaids.
How nice to be able to preserve those photos and go back and reminisce!
.....why a 'strange' decade? The 70s fashions were good I think...heck, I like fashions from all decades in history. There is always something good about them. And I like the red plaid.
My Tuesday Link: MARDI GRAS 'FAT TUESDAY' Come on over and enjoy the celebration if you can.
A decade with pizzaz and flair and individuality! What a great photo!
