Shadow Shot Sunday is back at an odd time - what is it with weather systems and Halloween? Usually the end of October is cooler but not full of weather phenomenon it seems. Last year, it was the Saturday before Halloween (29 Oct 2011) and just before the spooky holiday, a coastal storm left lots of snow in southern Connecticut.
But perhaps it is the time for weird things to happen...the Perfect Storm in 1991 also started on...28 October! Spooky coincidences or worse - who knows? Anyway, snowy ground does make for nice shadows. Trick or treat I guess...

I do love your shadow shot for the day, Ralph!! Great pumpkin in the snow! I am very sorry to hear about the threat from hurricane Sandy!! I'll be holding good thoughts for you and your family! Take care and stay safe!!
Hope you have your camera ready when the megastorm hits early next week. Think of all the fabulous shadow shots you'll get!
Shadowy Webs
Hanf on tightly...I fear you all are going to get the brunt of this thing. Here in VA we are bracing for lots of bad wind and even snow. We are just now getting over the wind damage from June. Love your shadow shot....a pumpkin and the snow with shadows in the background. Really pretty. Take care. Hope the weathermen are all wrong.
Love the shadows around your jack o'lantern!
Sandy has really got people spooked - even here in SW Ontario. Frankenstorm is what we are hearing!
have a wonderful weekend Ralph.
keeping good thoughts for ya'll ralph.
HOoly cows! I didn't realize that the Perfect Storm and Sandy were occurring on the same day and month. Insert "Twilight Zone" music here. You and yours will be in our thoughts and prayers that things don't get too 'hairy' there this week. Be safe, happy and warm!
Spooky indeed! Hoping that the perfect storm goes knocking at someone else's door for you all!!
Dear Ralph
I love that your pumpkin kept his composure in the whirlwind of crazy weather .. this picture is perfect and made me *SMILE* big time!
We are also waiting for the perfect storm .. the air is thick with anticipation .. the garden can use the moisture but we wonder what it will be like .. some what like kids if I come to think of it ? LOL

It is strange about the storm alignments with Halloween! But I do so love that photo! A pumpkin waiting for a dance in a snowy ball gown! Love it!
Great photo for Halloween week ... chilling! LOL
Hope you stay warm and safe through the storm!
Good one! I love that ray of gold mixed in to warm the chill of it all. We had some days in the 80's this week in VA!
...Oh I keep track of all the hurricanes during the entire season just for the fact of where I live. But it's my understanding that there is a massive cold front moving into your area from the west and another from Canada....that is to 'collide' with Sandy. I just hope that there is no tragedies and deaths...it seems that loss of power would be trivial if everyone survives through it all.
LOVE your jack-o-lantern image [I love Halloween]
brrrr...just looking at your pumpkin in snow made me shiver. :))
Take photos if you can of the wind and etc but above all, STAY SAFE.
Love the photo. Halloween snow, interesting! Snow does make a great backdrop for shadows.
Hope Sandy doesn't cause your power to go out and that there are no deaths and only minimal damages.
Take Care and Stay Safe!!
nice one it looks like an orange snowman - what happened to the year?
The storm is hitting us this year again, right before Halloween, oh boy! Lovely shot!
Cute and funny!
Seems to be very cold out there!
I hope Sandy hasn't been nasty and you and your family are all safe.
