Shadow Shot Sunday - Snow, snow and snow

Shadow Shot Sunday 2 is back, and if I may...I am kind of tired of the fluffy frozen precipitation. But like the post, the memes should be delivered in any weather. Of course in the Northeast US, everyone is taking digital pictures of the fallen snow...

Last night, we opened the garage door and I captured flash shadows of her measuring the snow, which at 9:40 PM measured 11 inches (28 cm)...this morning, I'd say 30 in/76 cm, but cannot tell for sure due to the drifts.

However, as the sun is peeking through the cold gray sky, a solar shadow emerges out the front window. Yes, the snow rises to railing height outside - yet a shadow is still a shadow...

I surely don't envy you the weather you're having!! Your photos are a great reminder for me to quit whining about our gray skies -- the temps are mild and we have no problem getting around plus we have power!! Do take care and stay warm!!

Wow! That is a heap of snow! The cars seem lodged in white! And still the weak sun manages a whisper of shadow!

We got pictures like this sent to us from our daughter and family in Maine.

You guys really got hit hard. I hope your power holds and the temps. rise a little so clean up can go faster.

I too will quit complaining about our gray skies and cool temperatures!

Please know so many of us have you all in our thoughts and prayers.

Good for you on still getting a great shadow shot!

The snow is lovely but sure can make it hard to get around. I enjoyed the years we lived in snow country. We were low enough that the snow was a rare but enjoyable treat.

Oh boy! Like the place we visited at the weekend...white, clean snow everywhere. And so quiet.
Here in Helsinki it's been snowing but most of it melted right away - so it's very wet...
Have a nice week!
