Normally we think of pizza as a red treat, covered in tomato sauce - a perfect subject for Ruby Tuesday Too. Yet here is an odd ruby, a white pie (mozzarella and Romano cheeses and garlic) with sun-dried tomatoes being the sole ruby on the entrée. Other reds include are the tablecloth and cabernet that nicely accent our table setting at Molto-Bene in Ansonia...and our dinner was delicious :)

Shadow Shot Sunday - Streetlight Shadows
Shadow Shot Sunday 2 returns and I am going back merely to 3 July and the fireworks show and gathering in downtown Derby. A warm and humid evening prior to the colorfully exploding sky, and these two shots are a bit grainy (cheap camera) in the evening lighting but shadows emerge. Bella's makes a fine and tasty thin crust pizza and of course, we truly enjoy our favorite small and local art Gallery@37. I don't know if anything was sold, but keeping the doors open and allowing potential patrons to enjoy the pieces made by local artists. Happily, it was a fine day for shadows!

Ruby Tuesday 2 - Thin crust, hold the rubble
![]() |
| A canopy remains intact minus the restaurant. Photo by Patti |
Ruby Tuesday 2 is back amidst of destruction...the building that housed the Derby CT pizzeria Italian Pavilion (IP) is no more...yet the not very strong canopy still stands. It seems odd that the massive wrecking equipment to meant demolish walls of concrete could not deny the ruby fabric a reason to stand. Not to worry, the IP moved about 300 ft (91M) down the road to a bigger and better eatery. With a new canopy too, crisis averted...
(as of yesterday the old building is still a pile of rubble, the ruby awning standing still...)

Ruby Tuesday 2 - One slice gone, seven to go
| The original treat... |
Ruby Tuesday 2 reappears with its simple proviso, a lot or a little red. So to comply, I offer this simple ruby: a pizza sourced locally, the tomato sauce the requisite ruby. The melted mozzarella and slightly burned crust are delectable additional gastronomic delights...follow more ruby dreams at RT2!
