Shadow Shot Sunday - Public works shadows

A bright day for a photo essay in an odd place
A chrome laden piece of equipment
Mayor Cassetti hand the keys to Public Works employees
A beautiful day for shadows
Shadow Shot Sunday 2 is back and the place and subject for today's post is different - at the Ansonia WPCA, and the subject, a newly purchased sewer vacuum truck. Granted, it is expensive at $360,000. However, Ansonia is an old town, 125 years this year, with old infrastucture. This truck can vacuum the old vitrified clay sewer pipes before they fail, which would cost way more in road and construction repairs (the property tax payers appreciate that :). Given the brisk but beautiful day, shadows add the artistic touches to this chrome laden piece of equipment...

Ruby Tuesday Too - New name, old truck

I missed the fun Ruby Tuesday last week, and lo and behold, I am back and noted he name change too. The theme requirements of a lot or a little red remains as before, and I have reds and quite a bit...this is probably one of the nicest and (mostly) original trucks around, a 1951 Chevrolet 3100. GM referred to this as its Advance Design series. Not only is the vehicle red, it sits in front of the ruby barn at the Shelton (CT) History Center. And ruby stripes on the flag on the Ford nest door. Classics all in design, utility and new blog name...

Tina's Pic Story - 'M' is for...

Route US-1 south, just past the Pennsylvania state line, humid day
Another hazy, warm and humid day, Interstate 195 east of Providence, Rhode Island
1960 Mack B-61 truck - probably seen on any of these three roads 50 years ago...
Route US-22 west, about 25 miles/40 Km west of Pittsburgh
Tina hosts her fun meme Pic Story - we provide the pictures to the weekly theme she supplies, which this week is the letter 'M'. For this post, I have a motoring theme. Three of these were taken by a passenger as I drove (the safer way :). 'M' is all over with statism towns and trucks supplying the thirteenth letter for today...

Ruby Tuesday - Merry mechanics

1960 Ford F-350 tow vehicle, Sardo's Ansonia CT. Photo by Patti
Ruby Tuesday 2 is back as the Christmas holiday season moves toward January 6. Patti captured an old tow truck at Sardo's Automotive in Ansonia, the maintainer of our vehicles. It is a 1960 Ford F-350 with strings of colorful LED holiday lights. An antique work vehicle likes to relax and celebrate too...Happy New Year to all!
