Any oddity we see can be a subject for Straight out of the Camera - SOOC If we see it and like it, we take our chances. Here is Ansonia CT Mayor Dave Cassetti at the August Rock the Valley event in our small city. Here happens to be perilously perched on the shelf of a dunk tank, the tank being a fundraiser, and many stopped by to fay their money to dunk the mayor (for the cause of course :) Yes, he heckles the ball thrower who makes it so easy to take a chance to fund the Mayor. And many did! The sequence follows the sun as it begins to set, so it is a bit dark - but perfectly real for SOOC!
It's this week's Shadow Shot Sunday 2 as we look for shadows in any venue. Sometimes something (or somebody) emerges from and overshadows the shadow itself. Like this very large feline (not ours :) fellow named Jake - and he emerges larger and brighter than the shadow, almost as a tan solar orb. Here kitty, kitty...
Wednesday summer evenings concerts next to City Hall are done for the season. All Funk'd Up, a fun Connecticut band, are not just fun to listen to - but for wordless pics too, despite the video...See WW
For Ruby Tuesday Too, we look for colorful, and perhaps tasty ruby red goodness. At my niece's wedding (Julie and Luis), this appetizer tray of fruits and vegetables has quite a ruby hue for the pre-dinner reception. Tomatoes, peppers, strawberries and grapes enhance the platter and leave lovely shades of red abound!
For Whimsical Windows/Delirious Doors, we look for portals and such of interest - or maybe even historic. I was not able to attend this fine eatery in Manhattan, but the always lovely Patti did. This was taken at a table by the courtyard of One If By Land, Two If By Sea in the West Village. The history shows this restaurant housed in a carriage house once owned by Aaron Burr (famous for being an early VP of the us, and more infamously his duel with Alexander Hamilton).
This view is great, history, nature and great food (I am told :). I am unsure if my wheelchair might be accommodated and sure it may be too pricey for me - but this is great seating for dinner!
