Shadow Shot Sunday - Snowless Spring in 1948

Grandpa, Easter Sunday 1948. No snow!
Aunt Terry, Easter Sunday 1948, in the Spring
Shadow Shot Sunday 2 is back, and the snow sits in our yard at about the same height it did one month ago, unmelted on one of the coldest February in Connecticut. So, I looked for pics of a cold day without snow - thus I revert back to what I believe to be Easter, 28 March 1948. There are no leaves in Steubenville Ohio and no snow. I'd long for no snow on the ground and the end - of this season...

Whimsical Windows - Snowy Suburban

Winter is upon us now as it was 1963, and as I age I am not so fond of the season. Back then as a kid, it was very fun, especially the morning after a snowfall.

Thus, for the meme Whimsical Windows/Delirious Doors, I revert back a number of decades and the Villers children are frolicking under the sun at our East Hartford (CT) home. And under the watchful eye of Grandpa, aka: The Sage of Steubenville, pictures were taken by our Dad.

Grandpa most likely gave his complicated Dresden built Exa SLR Camera to Dad with the admonition "Don't touch anything - just push the button." The request/order was complied with :)

Shadow Shot Sunday - Snowy sunset and shadow

I was returning home yesterday afternoon and upon pulling into my parking place in the driveway and saw a near sunset view and having only my cheap droid phone (check the odd curvature of the house), snapped this from the driver's seat. The glow of the sky allows for a post for Shadow Shot Sunday 2. A soft pastel glow illumines the cascading ice and creates a soft shadow Cold but quite attractive...

Whimsical Windows - Milestone

For the architectural meme Whimsical Windows/Delirious Doors, we look at portals and such of interest - in any season. This actually was taken in January of this year, looking unlike the snowy winter we are currently (and unhappily) enduring with snow and biting cold. Here could be a sunny Summer day. This was taken by the always lovely Patti as the Ansonia retailer Spector Furniture celebrating 125 years in business (despite what the website says :). Celebrations can (and should) always include windows and doors!
