Shadow Shot Sunday arrives on a warm winter's day, about 58°F (14.5° C), not at all typical.
Today, I offer an old black-and-white print, a vacation day from many decades ago, the (then) five children along with Aunt Terry, at low tide at the, the New Jersey shore at Brigantine. Shadows are falling about the watery sand that sits below the classic Sea Gull Cottages. I am to the left...
I have spent this past December working with about 100 scanned prints, making slideshows and learning the many nuances of I-Photo, I-DVD and YouTube. That project is now complete, this old view part of that...Follow the shadows at this always fun meme!

This is a really nice photo! That was my era. I love the vintage swimming suits! The shadows tell all.
Looks like everyone was having a good time.
Scanning old photos and slides is a project Hubby and I need to get back too.
A lovely gathering of smiling faces and shadows! I love the caring expression on your aunt's face!
You have done what I keep meaning to do-scans all those nostalgic old photos and putting together in a slide show that way. I keep running out of the 'round to its (getting around to it)! Too many distractions, I suppose, But, you you continue to inspire me even more so to get it done.
Did you feel a little lonely there, Ralph, surrounded by all those girls?
A SHADOW THE SIZE OF THE SUN
If I had a shadow the size of the sun,
I’m not sure how fast I’d be able to run,
Or if I could flee from its ravenous jaws,
While keeping away from its razor-sharp claws!

I love your blast from the past shots - so evocative....
Your photos always take me back to another time and place. A congenial group, your shadows are even linking arms!
Hi Ralph! This is such a fun ShadowShot.I love the old swimsuits and the classic cottages too. I have an Aunt Terry too. She used to take us kids on summertime adventures when she'd visit PA. Good memories of our Aunties!! Happy SSS.
ps-We did hear that you all were having some unusually warm weather. It is supposedly going to cool off here by tomorrow and drip into the 60s. That's fine with me!
Perfect Vintage shadow shot, love the old swimsuits, and the buildings in the background.
you have the most wonderful collection of family photos
I love this one
Some of the best shots are from the past.
Love those scrunched up shadows. I had a bathing suit like the girl up front in 1960.
A beautiful photo Ralph and that sounds like quite a project working with all those old prints! I bet the slideshows are lovely. Perhaps you could post some of the slideshows on your blog? That would be cool!
Such a beautiful day today. Your photo makes me wish that winter should be at temperature like we have today.
Great fun with old photos. But with your project? that is awesome. Remembering the good old days is priceless.
Hope you had a great Christmas & a peaceful NY and of course a merrier & fruitful 2012, bro!
