SOOC- Straight out of the Camera - is back. In Friday's impromptu photo shoot in front of Ansonia City Hall, I captured as well a monument in front of the building. As our city is only 19,000 population, the recognition is important for the locals.
This is a monument to our volunteer fore department. Since we are not so large to have a paid firefighting force, it is the volunteers who risk life and limb and do so while being unpaid. The service of self is very important in the small burgs, a hint of the old adage...
All for one, one for all. A well deserved recognition...straight out of the camera!

That is a great way to recognize their efforts. The small town I live near only has a couple hundred people, so volunteers are very important around here as well.
It's good to see a monument like this to celebrate selfless people in the community! A great idea as it represents past and present efforts!
