The blue onion dome at the Colt Armory |
Armaments are no longer being produced there, and much of the building has been renovated inside for rentals as office space and expensive apartments, both receiving the benefit of huge windows with lots of solar brilliance to filter through. Happily the building with its blue dome lives still…

The blue dome is very striking - and a most unusual addition to a building whose function is as an armoury rather than a place of spiritual learning.
That is a great dome, and it looks so modern and new! I certainly wouldn't have guessed that it dated back so far. Thanks for sharing this?
Sorry, that was clearly meant to be "thanks for sharing this!!"

I love this blue dome with its gold stars twinkling . . . never would have guessed it once was an armoury (do we really spell that with a "u" here in the states?) I guess I could look it up but I'm too lazy. I like it with a "u" anyway.
