Whimsical Windows - Deck the Yard winner

Finally my computer woes are in the past (sort of) as I have acquired a used Windows 7 machine - I preferred my Mac, but for the money, it works fine as opposed to not working at all...thus, I have a belated post for Toby's Whimsical Windows/Delirious Doors. It is the winning house of the 2014 in the Ansonia Deck the House and Yard competition. Being the chair of this subcommittee in the contest, the judges chose this is the overall winner - I like this house as it never encroaches into the gaudy, but remains a stylish older house that is nice with verandas, windows and doors of a more dignified era - that is smartly lit in holiday warmth...

Happy January, Shadow Shot friends!

I asked Ralph if I could do another "guest post" to keep in touch here. I still don't have a personal blog to use.

After I took a photo of my snowman friend, I noticed some shadows..

I must admit I've been putting off taking down Yuletide decorations. There are two reasons:

1) I enjoy the season, and 2) I'm lacking motivation.

But it's on my to-do list!

Ruby Tuesday Too brings us along in our discovery of the alluring color red. Sometimes bold, sometimes subtle is is a hue that catches our attention. On Sunday, we helped our son move to Brooklyn NY to be closer to his new job. While hunting for the way to the I-278 Brooklyn-Queens Expressway to get to our Connecticut home, Patti captured this holiday house, nicely adorned for the season, and so a fine entry for this week's RT. I like the subtle boldness of this ruby!

For RT2, Christmas rubies remembered...are Little kids in sleepers and robes marvel at a Radio Flyer, Snow White, seven dwarfs, plastic bowling sets and tool kits. The joy of receiving is matched by the joy of parental/Santa giving...

On the right, what was to be a tree shaped lawn light decoration - however when the cheap mount broke and it would not stand in the yard, it could be stood upside down on the ramp to equal ruby effect in the swirls of snow. Christmas is made of memories...merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!
