Ruby Tuesday Too compels us to look for red, a lot or a little. For me today, I showcase the red stripes on a large flag flying from a Shelton CT ladder fire truck...and a poster that sits along the route. The event that hosted this was the local Relay for Life on Saturday to celebrate those who have survived (and those who sadly have not). As Patti is now a three year survivor, she walked laps with her Circle of Friends support group, clad in pink. The ruby thus flies high and deservedly so...

Whimsical Windows - Unfurled Flags
For Toby's architectural meme Whimsical Windows/Delirious Doors, I go back a week to the Pierre Lallement bike festival in our small domicile of Ansonia Connecticut. A bike ride with serious cyclists starting in New Haven that has its finish line on Main Street, BMX stunt cyclists and more. And even a window reflection taken from the more modern (late 1960s) Wells Fargo Bank showcasing the early 1900s buildings across the street. Like in the meme's post, flags take up the focal points in the shot...Happy Independence Day to Israel!

Shadow Shot Sunday - Raising the flag
A beautiful day to celebrate the Irish...
...in our small domicile of Ansonia...
...with music, proclamation and dance. Photos by Patti
Shadow Shot Sunday 2 is back - as am I.
Last weekend was busy in a good way: Saturday morning was raising the Irish flag in front of Ansonia city hall; a corn beef sandwich (with swiss and kraut) after that at the excellent Antonio's Original restaurant in Ansonia; After that, a combined birthday with plenty of people for 7 and 3 year old relatives about an hour away. Then it was Sunday and the biggest St. Patrick's Day event in town.
Posts, alas, waited until this weekend. And those shadows are from the flag raising (and story written by Patti) of the Irish and US flags being raised in front of City Hall, with strong Spring shadows. The wind was blowing toward us (I thought the Irish proverb said the wind would be at our backs :) In the sea of green amongst the crowd, we all bade a happy St Patrick's Day...

Tina's WW - Flag in the Mist
Our daughter caught this in Paris...what I like best here is the gray morning mist shrouding all but the Tricolour flying proudly above it all...See Tina's WW

Ruby Tuesday 2 - Unfurled
Ruby Tuesday 2 is here, and we merely provide a bit of ruby red.
At the Derby Public Library, I was taking pictures on a day of spectacular sun and blue, I am on the shady, downhill side of the building, the stone wall and tree fill the frame. Except, we notice in this mix of shade and blue a flag, unfurled and fluttering in the breeze.
The mix of white, blue and red stands in its glory - a fine ruby addition! See more at RT2.
