Ruby Tuesday Too - White Pizza Ruby

Normally we think of pizza as a red treat, covered in tomato sauce - a perfect subject for Ruby Tuesday Too. Yet here is an odd ruby, a white pie (mozzarella and Romano cheeses and garlic) with sun-dried tomatoes being the sole ruby on the entrée. Other reds include are the tablecloth and cabernet that nicely accent our table setting at Molto-Bene in Ansonia...and our dinner was delicious :)

Shadow Shot Sunday - Playground

It has been a nice summer, warm but not quite as humid as usual. Thus, being outside on a sunny day at a playground makes for a fine post for Shadow Shot Sunday 2. The day was beautiful at a park in nearby Milford - fair weather shadows rule this 80ºF / 27ºC day of children playing and parents playing along too...

TBT - 1940s Army Air Force

As I have been dabbling in the Throwback Thursdays, perhaps a blog of the FB post is now in order...

The other day, in a filing cabinet was an envelope of quite a few 8X10 pictures was found. And many pictures I do not remember - so scanning commenced.

Lower right is dad, in the USAAF (United States Army Air Forces;  the USAF was created in Sept.1947) is on the lower right, Grandma Villers (Agnes) standing behind him. As he enlisted in the USAAF in Oct 1945, I believe that this is in the Summer of 1946.

Are the three stripes for rank of Private 1st Class? I guess this to be in Steubenville, Ohio. Would love to know more!

Wordless Wednesday - Wheelchair Tennis

This was an event celebrating the 25th anniversary of the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) in Milford CT. These players held many a serve and volley...see WW!

Whimsical Windows - Traci's on Main

For this week's meme Whimsical Windows/Delirious Doors, I travel downhill from our Ansonia Uplands home to downtown, and a new pâtisserie, Traci's on Main. Not only a bakery, antiques are on display and for sale as well. This is located on the ground floor of the 1870 Ansonia Opera House, and the weathered windows and brickwork are nicely updated with the bold purple signage and awning to greet the customers. Nice looks with delicious pastry comply us to browse and snack any time we travel downtown...
