Rotary Tubas in a parade along Elizabeth Street...by Patti
Flowering plants alongside a chain-link fence on Third Street...by Patti
Shadow Shot Sunday 2 is back, and I offer a couple of items taken in Derby (CT) recently, and both vastly different items have shadows that are defined yet do not jump at us - however compel us to view the entire scene to find them. At least I think so...shadows that may or may not jump at us can be found at SSS2
Dear Ralph you have posted the "it" factor for SSS , wink wink Irises and Tubas ! LOL Paula is right, the tubas look like they are floating on air and how pretty are those iris ? Joy : )
Hi Ralph, Others have commented on the size of the tubas, and I agree! You captured a wonderful trick shot, the man in the blue shirt makes the tubas appear enormous!
Subtle shadows in those not-so-subtle tubas. I don't know how they carry those things while marching. The irises are beautiful too.
Thanks for your comment on the birdbath - and yes, the woodchucks do drink from it and climb in for a soak on hot days. They consider it their personal spa.
The tubas look as if they are being carried on shoulders - much like a litter! They seem weighty! Interesting perspective of them that stirs the intriguing questions! And love the shadow play in the second photo!

excellent angle on the tubas- I thought at first they were part of a giant sculpture! Have a great day! HOpe it's warming up and not raining so much!
How big are those tubas any way?? Great shots. Love the irises!

Have a good weekend!
Brass instruments are always amazing to look at with the various reflections and shadows that play on their surface
Ralphie: I like the photos ;-)

The reflection and shadows play such interesting parts in your photos.
Lovely blue flowers and you are so right. The shadows lend depth.
