Shadow Shot Sunday 2 is back, and my subject is the 40th birthday party for my nephew Stephen. theme was the the 1980s. You'd never guess his age, being as youthful as anyone I know - and a great guy! And even more a brave soul, as he loves the NHL Montreal Canadiens while living in Boston where the local Bruins fans hate Les Habitants more than any other hockey team (he also loves the NY Yankees, a real faux pas in the heart of Red Sox Nation)...Anyway, the 1980s styles, music and ambience at the restaurant were perfect for this decade I remember: The generally reserved me wore a Pac Man Ghost shirt, there was also Def Leppard, Cabbage Patch dolls, Run DMC, a Back to the Future/Pac Man/Rubik's Cube cake and the 1980s Weird Al. As yes, I remember it all :)

Shadow Shot Sunday - They should be dancing (yeah)
Shadow Shot Sunday 2 returns one week after a big event, a party after a First Communion. At the venue, the deejay attempts to get the dressed up kids ready to dance on the hardwood floor as the not as energetic grownups sit, watch and perhaps capture them in action. Ah, to be young and mobile again...

Ruby Tuesday Too - Eatery bathed in red...
| Bold ruby neon sign atop Angellino's Restaurant, Vernon, CT...captured by Patti |
On Friday evening, we attended a 60th surprise birthday party for my brother-in-law, who was really surprised! Fun and excellent food for all, from the recipient to the 30 guests. As this is for Ruby Tuesday Too the search for red takes us to the venue - Angelno's Restaurant in Vernon CT, and it is perfect. Patti saw and captured the huge ruby neon sign on the roof which is both bold (its ruby intensity) and subtle (the soft ruby glow on the roof shingles). Thus, it fits the mood for this week's meme :)

Ruby Tuesday 2 - Vintage b-day

Ruby Tuesday 2 today goes back to a child's birthday party in 1983, the guess based on the growth stage of the nieces and nephews celebrating the day.
Some ruby is there, fulfilling the basic red required...All the kids then are parents now - great kids back then. Outstanding grown-ups now...Follow the trail of more rubies at RT2!

Tina's WW - Bored
When the family party occurs, much of the action is between the grown-ups outside. Which might be boring to children in attendance. I assume the TV inside offers no more excitement than the big person party outside...see Tina's WW!
