Wordless Wednesday - Vacation is over

So we remind ourselves of vacations past where kids enjoyed the hotel pool and the biggest decision of the day was which restaurant we were going for dinner...see Tina and Joy

Tina's Pic Story - Icy

Tina offers us the always fun weekly photo meme Pic Story. Happily I am back this week, and have for my submittal for the letter 'I' which for me is Icy. The day in question is 27 January 2011, the morning after the forth snowstorm of 15 in (38 cm) since the preceding Christmas from each of those storms. In southern Connecticut, that is way too much snow in a four week period...but plenty of icy conditions for this month's letter challenge!

Although I prefer spring, summer and autumn to that winter...

Ruby Tuesday - Cosmopolitan

Once, nobody used a phone at a restaurant - I must be getting older...photo by Patti
Ruby Tuesday 2 is back on this (US) Labor Day Weekend, and I revert back a couple of months to a family dinner at a favorite place, the neat Antonio's Original at the junction of Main and Bridge Streets in the heart of Ansonia. This meal included two cosmopolitan cocktails with the requisite red from the cranberry juice - so, this apĂ©ritif is now today's ruby...

Whimsical Windows

B-24 'doors', dad and Cam...
Toby hosts the fun meme Whimsical Windows/Delirious Doors where we look for portals of seriousness or mirth...these pictures are taken from film prints from 2001 at the New Haven airport and it was a static display of WWII bombers. These were taken at or inside a Consolidated B-24, produced in 1943 and restored in the 1990s.

Allegra at the 'window'
Above, then 12 year old Allegra looks out a gunner's  'window', 10 year old Cameron (and dad) are standing under the bomb bay 'doors'. This old plane flies to contemporary air shows and is open for inspection. Perhaps and maybe, a hint of whimsy too...

Neon Shadows

Shadow Shot Sunday 2 is back as we scurry to locate shadowy items from far and wide. Yet, Allegra's '96 Plymouth Neon, today parked in the road and mostly under the mulberry tree beckoned...The shadows that fell onto the vehicle were akin to stylish ones posted for SSS of an old  Edsel similarly under a tree...I like the old red Neon in fantastic shape for its age, the cute 'face' that said 'Hi' in the period TV and print ads. At any rate, the shadowy world was a mere 40-ft (12m) from the front door. Never let a shadow get away :)

We like the old Neon advertisements that say Hi, even though Allegra was quite young when they first appeared...
