Ruby Tuesday Too is back with the simple proviso: a little or a lot of red - I am choosing the former today. Neon red usually jumps at us at night and we notice. On an overcast day near the seacoast, it is not always so noticeable. Here a crop, there a crop...then the ruby is easier to spot. The place is the Four Seas in Centerville Massachusetts. No frills, but as good ice cream we had on Cape Cod. With a dash of retro ruby neon to enjoy along with the frozen treats :)
Shadow Shot Sunday 2 arrives in a week where the family has a new addition...not what you might think though. It is really Allegra's new used car, a '99 Chevrolet Malibu sitting in the long autumnal shadows falling upon the Ansonia Uplands.
This shadowy beige conveyance replaces her 1996 Plymouth Neon that graced SSS2 and other posts. The absolutely nicest first generation Neon anywhere, it was totaled by an errant driver's left turn. Happily nobody was hurt and the other driver was at fault. The only casualty, alas, the shiny ruby Neon...
Nevertheless, the Malibu leaves excellent shadows under the more southerly sun. Owned and carefully driven by an older gentleman, it has only 74.000 miles (119,000 km) so it has a long and shadowy life - we hope without other drivers' faulty left turns...
Allegra and I leave long-ish shadows on the front yard...
Always love the oval shapes and shadows of the Neon...
Looking to the south from the north - seasonal shadows
I guess that it's no accident that the shadow hunter shows up in the sheetmetal :)
Shadow Shot Sunday 2returns and since autumn is nigh since the unofficial end of Summer is Labor /Labour Day (actually it is 22 September), it seems as the sun has actually began its move to its rightful position to the South. So, the shadows now more pronounced from South-to-North in the front yard are where I looked for shadowy subjects. Including those that include daughter the shadowy Mulberry tree and Allegra's cherry red 1996 Plymouth Neon. I am noticing the sun making its long angular turn - a sign of the season and longer shadows as thesun retreats. It is still warm now...but for how long??
The City of Pittsburgh, of course in the state of...Pennsylvania
Our Daughter's 1996 Plymouth Neon
Tina hosts the fun meme Pic Story, and its requirement is simple: She suggests the weekly theme, we match with a photo. This week, the letter 'P' has been chosen, and as I am unable to decide what best meets the theme, I used them all...see more of the letter 'P' at Tina's meme!
A 1996 Neon is unearthed on 9 Feb - captured by Patti
Ruby Tuesday 2 returns on a crisp and sunny day of 60°F/16°C today (only 8°C tomorrow though...)
Nevertheless, a ruby view from 9 February and the massive Blizzard of 2013. It is of course Allegra's 1996 Plymouth Neon beginning to be unearthed after the 36 inch/ 95 cm snowfall. Why this ruby memory now? So we can more fully appreciate the exit of Winter...Happy and warm RT greetings to all :)
The return of Ruby Tuesday 2 takes me back a coupe of weeks to a tomato laden panini.
We brought Cameron bak for his final semester at the U-of-Hartford with (1) Grand Caravan and (1) Neon full of collegiate living items and a total of (4) persons to transport said goods to West Hartford four days before the freshmen arrived - and confusion was avoided as we survived two freshman move-in Saturdays over the years...
We all stopped at Tapas restaurant in Bloomfield for lunch after the unloading. One of the specials was this chicken bruschetta panini surrounded by a lightly toasted ciabatta roll; another ruby was that spicy ketchup to dip the best waffle fries ever into. Happily free refills on the iced tea helped with the heat...Tasty red rubies are a Tuesday special not on the menu - and thoroughly enjoyed
Shadow Shot Sunday 2 is back as we scurry to locate shadowy items from far and wide. Yet, Allegra's '96 Plymouth Neon, today parked in the road and mostly under the mulberry tree beckoned...The shadows that fell onto the vehicle were akin to stylish ones posted for SSS of an old Edsel similarly under a tree...I like the old red Neon in fantastic shape for its age, the cute 'face' that said 'Hi' in the period TV and print ads. At any rate, the shadowy world was a mere 40-ft (12m) from the front door. Never let a shadow get away :)
We like the old Neon advertisements that say Hi, even though Allegra was quite young when they first appeared...
Our driveway is filling up...three sets of taillights, all ruby too
Ruby Tuesday 2 arrives on a momentous day - Allegra brought home her first car! And not just in any color, it is in our favorite hue for Tuesday (we can all guess :)...a 1996 Plymouth (Chrysler) Neon, with 97000 miles (156100 Km). It sounds like a lot, but for $3000 these days, 130,000-150,000 miles is normal...fully maintained too. So, no more car sharing between mom and daughter!
